_bm3 The New File Window

When you run a profile, if there are any new files detected, and your profile is configured to prompt you, then a New File window will appear (note that for scheduled tasks this window never appears).

In the Advanced settings tab, in Profile Setup, you have the option of asking SyncBack to prompt you if a file is in the source or destination, but not both. For example, if you created a backup profile, then run the profile, then deleted a file from the source, you would then have a file in the destination that is not in the source. On the next run of the profile, if you have configured your profile to be prompted, then a window will appear asking you what action to take for this file.

The window has the filename at the top. If the filename is too long to fit in the edit box, you can resize the window. You are also told where the file is missing from, e. g. 'Destination file missing' means the file is in the source but not the destination. Information is also shown on the size of the file, it's last modification date & time, and it's hash value (if you have configured the profile to use hashing for file comparisons).

There are a number of options available to you. Note that some of these options may be unavailable. For example, if the file is not in the destination then you obviously cannot delete it from the destination.

_bm11 Copy To Source (restore/sync): This will copy the file from the destination to the source.

_bm11 Copy To Source Always: This will copy the file from the destination to the source, and if there are any other files not in the source, then they will automatically be copied to the source without you being prompted again for the rest of this profiles run.
